About Us
Like many great ideas, the idea for this tournament was born on the golf course. The Corp Classic was the brainchild of Ross Pomerantz (@corporate.bro) and Jake Hutt (@jakehuttgolf and co-founder of Dryvebox). Their intent was simple: get Bay Area companies to compete and donate the proceeds to help local restaurants, bars, and small businesses that were hard hit by the pandemic. Many big tech and finance companies saw tremendous growth during the pandemic as demand rose for their products. This tournament provides a chance for these large companies to give back to the local community and help grow the game of golf.
Unlike other tournaments, we envision a more fun and rowdy atmosphere. Something to welcome in a more vibrant and diverse community. Imagine teams making uniforms to represent team, a gallery of fans from different companies cheering and talking smack to other teams, and a beer & wine garden to celebrate golf with a selection of local brews and wineries. The Corp Classic is about giving back, bringing people together and high-level competitive golf.
